This summer, enjoy the outdoor ice rink in the pier’s new Polk Brothers Park, the recently redeveloped 13 acres of green space outside the west entrance. The rink is 82 feet long and 66 feet wide and will use real ice by way of a ”chiller” that will keep it frozen even in high temperatures. ”Skate by the Lake” is open from noon to 10pm daily throughout the summer. The cost is $10 with your own skates and $15 including skate rental.

If you haven’t been to Navy Pier lately, you should see the major transformation for its centennial, with a new Ferris wheel, outdoor benches and lakefront seating, restaurants, and a new park by the front entrance. It’s where Chicagoland comes together to enjoy the fun and beauty with a day on Lake Michigan!
