and Learn Spanish over Breakfast!
- Introduce your children to a new language.
- Keep their minds active this summer.
- Have fun at breakfast every morning.
Here’s an easy way to introduce your children to the wonderful concept of speaking a new language. Did you know that Spanish is the primary language spoken at home by over 38 million people in the U.S.?
El Desayuno -Breakfast is the first of a series of books that focuses on teaching Spanish through one conversational theme at a time. With the theme of desayuno (breakfast), we learn new vocabulary words, such as jugo (juice) and leche (milk). The book includes basic grammar and builds sentences in Spanish around this theme.
Mamá, compraste jugo de naraja? (Mom, did you buy orange juice?)
With the easy to read text and bright illustrations, the book is fun to read and use. Your child will pick up on the language in no time. It’s a great way to start them on a second language.
This method of teaching is based on a conversational Spanish program called “Spanish in Action” which was developed by Miss Ina, a Spanish teacher and mother of five homeschooled children. Miss Ina was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and has been teaching Spanish for 27 years. Her program is used in many schools and preschools throughout the state of Florida.
