Guest post by Medieval Times Chicago in Schaumburg, IL
Have a blast this summer and experience living history at Medieval Times. The breathtaking Andalusian horse show, Knights defending their realm, a princess and a king are only some of the wonders the family can enjoy together.
The castle transports visitors to 11th century Spain – an era of knights, chivalry and eating without utensils. Tour the Hall of Arms and see authentic medieval artifacts – including a dungeon. Trumpeters call guests to the Grand Arena for a four-course feast and two-hour action-packed show.
Be inspired by watching the knights in action, valiantly competing and defending the realm. For boys and girls between 5 and 12, the king offers a special program to participate in knight training. Participants get to watch an exclusive demonstration before the show, meet the knights and be knighted by King Carlos in a group ceremony. This program is free with each child admission through July 31, 2015.
Food is part of the fun since it’s all eaten with fingers and hands. Tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, and a corn cobbette alongside an herb-basted potato with an apple pastry for dessert are sure to fill up hungry patrons. A vegetarian option is also available.
The castle is also a great place to celebrate, from birthdays and quinceañeras to corporate events and scouting trips. With flexible setup options and state-of-the-art sound and lighting, every occasion is sure to be a memorable one.
