Penguin Encounter – Shedd Aquarium

Meet one of Shedd’s penguins! During this 30-minute experience you will be right next to the action. Discover what makes these birds so amazing! During this Extraordinary Experience you will see the penguin explore, preen, play with toys, perch and gulp fish.



Frosty Fest – Red Oak Nature Center

January 29, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean you can’t still celebrate winter! Red Oak will be hosting its 3rd Frosty Fest event! Hike on one of our self-guided trails like the Illuminated Snowflake Trail where you can use your senses to explore winter.



Saturday Stories – Elmhurst Public Library

January 29, February 12, 19, 26 – 10:30 am – 11:00 am
Join us for stories, music, and movement, just right for families to share together. Live in-person. Registration with an EPL card required. Register for each monthly series. Attendees over 2 years of age are required to wear masks at in-person events.



Virtual: Watson Adventures’ Wizard School Virtual Scavenger Hunt

Grab your magic wands for a wizarding adventure that takes you to museums across America in search of art that echoes characters, places, and magical objects in the famed Harry Potter books and movies, all without leaving your home. Price: $19.00 —Per person



Millennium Park ice skating

January 29 – March 6
Ice skating in Millennium Park is a cherished Chicago tradition. Each winter, the downtown park is home to two unique public ice rinks. You can glide along on the free skate rink nestled in the shadow of a Chicago icon — “The Bean” statue — and the lights of Michigan Avenue.
