Festival of Lights Opening Night – Bloomingdale Park District
December 3 – 31, 6:30 pm
Beginning December 3, 2021, the Festival of Lights returns for the ninth straight year in bigger and brighter fashion. Pedestrians and motorists alike are treated to a sparkling display of holiday lights and sights in Old Town Park and Old Town Bloomingdale through New Year’s Day. Free.
It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play – Oil Lamp Theater

Oil Lamp Theater reopens its doors with our annual production of “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play”. This play has become a holiday tradition for many Oil Lamp patrons and their families, and in this year we know those traditions that bring us joy mean more than ever before.
December 3 – January 2, 10:00 am – 9:30 pm
Brighten the winter season with Chicagoland’s biggest indoor, temperature-controlled light garden, featuring large-scale light-sculpture displays; an Alpine ice rink, authentic holiday beer garden, kiddie train rides, Santa’s Merry Main Street and gift market—and, of course, a visit with Santa.
Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light – Museum of Science and Industry
December 3 – January 3, 9:30 am – 4:00 pm
Christmas Around the World features more than 50 trees and displays representing global traditions of the season. This year, the exhibit will celebrate the golden age of travel with themed décor. Guests can also visit Santa and have a souvenir photo taken. Included in Museum Entry.
