Spring is the time to clean and refresh. Here are two of our favorite go-to non-toxic pantry items that keep the house smelling clean and springtime fresh.
All Purpose Cleaner
This easy-to-mix, all-purpose cleaner works on most surfaces. It’s great on kitchen countertops and floors to remove sticky fingerprints. It’s also a great fabric freshener for car seats, pillows and event draperies. (Test a small sample of fabric first to make sure it doesn’t fade.)
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 cups water
- 10 drops of essential oil or ¼ cup fabric softener.
Mix in a spray bottle and spritz away.
Odor Remover
This is a great mixture to get ‘pet smell’ out of hard wood floors! It gets down into the cracks and bubbles out all of the stuff you can never really get to. It’s like a science project on your floors and it smells so fresh when you are done!
- 5 oz Hydrogen Peroxide
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 2 teaspoons of baking soda
- 10 drops of orange essential oils
Mix in a large bowl and be careful of it bubbling over. Place in a spray bottle and spray the smelly spots. Vacuum residue after it dries. The baking soda will continue to freshen long after you clean it up. Discard the remaining solution or it will explode and then you will have a super-fresh smelling mess on your hands.
