Celebrate this wonderful time of year with an action packed day of fun and activities at Triton College’s Fall Family Fun Fest. The annual event is Saturday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in Triton’s Botanical Gardens. Free.
Ignite the Night! – Barrington Hills Riding Center

Ignite the Night is an autumn highlight for the whole family. Citizens for Conservation’s fall fundraiser will feature a cookout dinner, live music, food, stargazing, flashlight walks for kids, a raffle, and horse-drawn wagon rides. $50 in advance ($65 at door), age 12-20: $25; under 12: $10
Black Diamond Kite Fest – Lippold Lacrosse Fields
Oct. 1 in Crystal Lake
Watch Professional kite flyers fill the sky with enormous kites. First 250 kids receive free kites. Build a kite or bring your own! Pack a blanket and picnic lunch for your family to enjoy while flying kites. Free.
Disney On Ice presents Dream Big – Allstate Arena
September 29 – Oct. 1 in Rosemont
Enter a world where adventure is awaiting and courage leads the way at Disney On Ice presents Dream Big. Through enchanted pixie-dust, Tinker Bell takes you on a journey of beloved Disney tales LIVE ON ICE.
