Summer is a time for exploration, fun and spending time with friends. Bolingbrook Park District offers two different day camp opportunities to meet the needs of all kids looking for a summer filled with fun. Camp Alotta Fun lives up to its name with campers participating in swimming at Pelican Harbor Indoor/Outdoor Aquatic Park, arts and crafts, games, sports, music, nature, trips to local parks, and field trips.  Home base for Camp Alotta Fun is Volunteer Park next to the Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex, 200 S. Lindsey Lane in Bolingbrook. Campers are placed in groups each session with others as close in age as possible. All counselors for Camp Alotta Fun are certified teachers or college students working toward degrees in education or recreation. This day long camp also offers before and after camp hours to accommodate the schedules of working parents.

If Camp Alotta Fun doesn’t peak your child’s interest, Bolingbrook Park District also offers a variety of nature day camps held at Hidden Oaks Conservation Area. These camps are broken up by age group: Eco-Voyagers Camp for kids ages 6-7 years, Eco-Trekkers Camp for kids 8-10 years, and Eco-Explorers Camp for kids ages 11-14 years. Campers participate in activities like hiking, fishing, biking, canoeing, climbing and wilderness survival. These camps offer your explorer lots of opportunities to learn and connect with nature. Bolingbrook Park District naturalist will unlock your child’s curiosity and love of nature exploration. Hidden Oaks Conservation Area is located at 410 Schmidt Road in Bolingbrook.

Both Camp Alotta Fun and Hidden Oaks Nature Camps require children to bring a lunch, snack and refillable water bottle. Camps are available Monday-Friday. Each camper can sign up for the entire summer or one week at a time. Camps do fill up fast so it is important to register early. For more information, visit www.bolingbrookparks.org.
