Children of Hangzhou at the DuPage Children’s Museum

The re-opened DuPage Children’s Museum is better than ever!

Since the devastating flood in January 2015, the staff and supporters of the DuPage Children’s Museum worked nonstop to clean up and get ready for visitors again. The museum opened in September 2015, and continues to be one of our favorite places for children to explore, play and learn.

In case you need a reason to visit this winter, another new exhibit, Awesome Air, just opened in December 2016. Like all of their exhibits, Awesome Air is hands-on, interactive, and downright fun. Children learn about the power of air with stomp launchers, whirlygigs, and a new air tunnel. Here’s a video of the staff playing with wind pipes.

Coming on January 16, 2016, is the Children of Hangzhou, a new traveling exhibit that about four children from Hangzhou, China. The exhibit introduces the Chinese children at home, at school, in the theater and in the countryside. It’s a wonderful way for your children to explore a different culture with activities and interactive exhibits.

Additional exhibits include Build It, where kids can use real tools to put together pieces of wood and build a structure. The Make It Move exhibit uses basic physics concepts to show gravity and cause-and-effect. Waterways is always a hit with kids, where they can blow bubbles and play with water.

The renovated museum now includes a S.M.A.R.T. Café with an array of high-quality foods and healthy snacks to keep you fueled for a long visit.

In addition to daily visits, the museum is available for private parties. It’s a great place for a birthday to remember! Check out the exhibits and more at the DuPage Children’s Museum in Naperville.
