When those Rainy Days Hit

Head inside to the museums. We’ve got such a great collection of museums in the Chicago area, and not just the large city museums. Here’s a sample of local museums you’ll want to know. When you’re ready to head inside, check out their terrific exhibits.

Graue Mill and Museum in Oak Brook

Civil War Museum in Kenosha

Lake County Discovery Museum in Wauconda – check out their Vortex Roller Coaster Theater for a ride through 10,000 years of history.

How about a museum dedicated to automobiles where you can find the Bat mobile and Lightning McQueen?

Volo Auto Musuem in Volo, Illinois.

Or an exhibit on Baseball!

Kohl Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago in Glenview – new Wizard of Oz exhibit opens Sept. 24th.

Discovery Center Museum in Rockford – great hands-on science, math and art exhibits.

Chicago Children’s Museum at Navy Pier –Unboxed: Adventures in Cardboard features the best toy ever – the cardboard box.

DuPage Children’s Museum in Naperville – new Trains art gallery opens Sept. 17th. (Note that this museum is closed for updating through Sunday, Sept. 16.)
