November is Family Literacy Month and Nov. 19th is Family Reading Night. It’s a great excuse to turn off the electronics, sit together as a family, and read. There’s nothing like a good book to stimulate your child’s imagination and open up a whole new world for them.
Here are a few local library events to get your kids focused on reading.
Nov. 19, 6-7:30pm
Kids World Presents: A Mo Willems’ Family Read Night
Arlington Heights Public Library. Join the Pigeon, Elephant & Piggie, Knufflebunny and other favorite friends in Kids’ World for an evening of crafts, games, stories and fun featuring the beloved characters from Mo Willems.
Nov. 19, 6:30-7:30pm
Family Reading Night at the Fire Museum
Aurora Regional Fire Museum. Families with children of all ages are invited to the museum for stories and activities. Tour the museum after for a taste of old-time firefighting.
Nov. 19, 7-8pm
Dinovember Family Literacy Night
Bartlett Public Library. 630-837-3348 Celebrate Family Literacy Night at the Bartlett Public Library District with the dinosaurs. We will have dinosaur themed stories, activities and a craft.
Nov. 19, 6:15pm
Illinois Family Reading Night Storytime
Glenview Public Library. For ages 2-6 with family.
